Our story begins in 1990 when Robert Oliveira, Ph.D. (Dr. Bob) spun the Comply™ brand of products out of 3M. A serial inventor and biochemist, Dr. Bob worked at 3M for 18 years developing products ranging from biochemical diagnostics to surgical instruments. An ear canal expert, he also led a team at 3M who developed the world’s first FDA-approved cochlear implant. Dr. Bob’s research, presented worldwide, demonstrates that the shape and opening of the ear canal changes as one’s jaw opens and closes. Ear canal shape also changes with such attributes as an individual’s weight, age, and level of hydration. This discovery of the ear canal’s dynamic nature led our development of numerous unique and patented memory foam solutions to protect and enhance hearing, including the world’s first memory foam earphone tip. Offering superior sound isolation, in-ear retention and soft comfort, Comply™ foam tips are sold globally to top brands and through distributors and retailers. First used for audiology products, our technology has expanded into consumer electronics, military, law enforcement, industrial communications and hunting. Today, over 75 earphone brands choose Comply™ tips as part of their earphone solution for the ultimate listening experience. In high-noise environments, Comply™ has become the standard for many communication systems used in military and industrial settings. The patented technology behind Comply™ Foam Tips is unrivaled. With engineering based on knowledge of ear-canal structure and with innovative memory-foam technology, Comply™ products dramatically enhance your listening experience.
Integral Protection – A built-in filter safeguards earphones from wax and debris, but is virtually transparent acoustically (less than 2dB transmission loss).
Superior Attenuation – Comply™ Foam Tips offer excellent noise isolation. Actual attenuation depends on earphone design and frequency.
Flexible Core – Several sizes to fit most earphones. Engineered materials are tailored to provide optimal coefficient of friction for attaching to the earphone and soft durometer for comfort.
Super-Soft Memory Foam – Extremely soft polyurethane foam for long-term, comfortable wear. Also, conforms to the ear canal to maintain an acoustic seal and retain earphone in the ear.

Comply™ Foam Tips
Comply™ Foam Tips are made with high-tech, viscoelastic polyurethane foam. This heat-sensitive, breathable foam conforms to the dynamic shape of the ear canal, providing a perfect in-ear fit. The foam’s passive noise-reduction technology seals out unwanted ambient sound and funnels pure music directly into the ear canal, without leaking bass. Thirty times softer than the silicone used on ordinary, factory-supplied earbuds, Comply™ Foam Tips are extraordinarily comfortable, reducing irritation and fatigue and leaving listeners with clear, crisp sound. Numerous earphone tests using Comply™ Foam Tips have shown no significant reduction in frequency response when compared to ordinary silicone tips (testing performed using a pure tone frequency sweep from 200 Hz – 8,000 Hz).
